Ken Drake of Oneida elected new Chair of the Oneida City Democratic Committee thumbnail

(Oneida) Ken Drake was elected Chair of the Oneida City Democratic Committee at a recent meeting of the organization.  Drake replaces former Chair Charles McMahon who is a candidate for Madison County Clerk in the upcoming election on November 3rd.

Ken Drake is a retired educator from the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School

District, and served in various capacities including president of the VVS Teachers Association during his thirty-five year career.  He is the current president of the retired teacher’s association and serves as the union representative to the Retiree Council 8 of New York State United Teachers. 

Ken is also a founding member of the community service group called The Concerned Citizens of the Greater Oneida Area and a board member of Victoria Buda’s Academy of Theatrical Arts. 

Ken lives on Main Street in Oneida with his wife Virginia.  The Drake’s have two children and three grandchildren.
