(Oneida, NY) Free wireless internet access is now available at Oneida Healthcare Center.
“We went ‘live’ at the beginning of March and everyone is very excited about it,” said Mary McGuirl, OHC’s Chief Information Officer. The service is available to visitors, patients and residents throughout the Hospital and Extended Care Facility who have their own laptop computer or other Wi-Fi capable device.
“Because we are the stewards of extremely sensitive and confidential patient information, we built the Guest Network as an entity completely separate from the network through which patient information flows,” McGuirl said. “This insures that none of that information could be ever be compromised, either maliciously or accidentally, by one of our Guest Network users.”
Accessing OHC’s Guest Network is quick and easy with the simple instructions available throughout both facilities. Logon information and the Guest Network Policy are also available online at oneidahealthcare.org.
So now, when you’re relaxing in the Station Break Café, sitting in a waiting room, or visiting a friend or loved one in the hospital or nursing home, you have free wireless access to the World Wide Web, compliments of Oneida Healthcare Center.
“It’s just one of the many things we’re doing to make each person’s experience with us the best it can be,” McGuirl said.
