Babysitter Training Course Offered

Babysitter Training Course Offered thumbnail

The Madison-Oneida Chapter of the American Red Cross will be offering a Babysitter Training class on Saturday, March 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you’re 11 to 15 years old, you can get the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Combining video, activities, hands-on skills training and discussion for a complete learning experience, Babysitter’s Training shows you how to:

Respond to emergencies and illnesses with first aid, rescue breathing and other appropriate care

Make decisions under pressure

Communicate with parents to learn household rules

Recognize safety and hygiene issues

Manage young children

Feed, diaper and care for infants

Participants should bring a bag lunch and drink that do not need refrigeration.  If possible, bring a diaper-able doll, also.  Students will receive a textbook to take home with very helpful information.

Babysitter Training is a very popular course and registration fills up rapidly.

Pre-registration is a requirement.

For class registration information, call the Chapter at 315-363-2900 or go to www.madisononeidaredcross.org .
