Page leads Morrisville State women at SUNYIT Wildcat Invitational; Williams leads men thumbnail

Morrisville State College sophomore runner, Stephanie Page (Nunda, NY) finished second overall, to lead the women’s team to an overall fifth place finish at the SUNYIT Wildcat Cross Country Invitational (Sept. 5) Saturday morning in Utica. Page finished the 5k run with a time of 22:26.1.

Kelcie Degenfelder (Collins, NY) was the second Mustang to cross the finish line, placing 32nd overall with a time of 26:31.5 and was followed by Brittany Ellis (Camillus, NY) six seconds later in 34th position. Elizabeth Peck (Antwerp, NY) crossed in 37th position at 27:11.5 and Regina Laws (Uniondale, NY) completed the women’s scoring, finishing in 28:42.1, 43rd place.

William Smith College won the race with 46 team points, led by Elizabeth Mills who finished in first at 22:16.7.

The Morrisville State men’s team finished in 8th place in the 6k race, and was led by freshman Peyton Williams (Bronx, NY) who finished in 28th place overall with a time of 24:25.0.

Matt Benjamin (Chittenango, NY) crossed in 36th position at 25:17.3 followed by Carl Tausend (Cato, NY) in 48th at a time of 26:58. Devon Conner (Rose, NY) and Alfonso Dallas (Syracuse, NY) rounded out the men’s scoring, finishing in 55th and 56th place overall.

Morrisville State is on the road next Saturday, Sept. 12 at the SUNY Cobleskill Invitational.
