MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men’s ice hockey team will hold their annual “Skate with the Mustangs” event after the conclusion of Friday’s game Nov. 13 and will accept donated coats and jackets in exchange for free admission to Saturday’s contest Nov. 14, part of the hockey program’s ongoing community service efforts.
The annual “Skate with the Mustangs” event will take place at the Morrisville State IcePlex after the conclusion of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) match-up with rival SUNY Potsdam at 7 p.m. on Friday. Community members are invited to attend the contest and cheer on the Mustangs, then hit the ice for a free skate session with Morrisville State players and coaching staff. There is no charge for skate rental and photograph/autograph opportunities will also be made available.
Admission to the contest is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors over 65, with free admission to children under 12 years of age. Morrisville State faculty and staff, as well as students, are also admitted free of charge with college ID.
On Saturday, Morrisville State hits the ice against #1 nationally ranked SUNY Plattsburgh at 7 p.m. for the second of the weekend’s SUNYAC action at the IcePlex.
The team is asking those attending the contest to donate a coat or jacket in exchange for free admission to the game, in an effort to help keep community members in need warm this winter season.
Also happening Saturday, Morrisville’s own, Hailey Blodgett, will be taking the ice during the first intermission period of the game, performing a riveting figure skating routine.
Morrisville State is currently 2-2 on the season, 1-1 in SUNYAC play.
