(Morrisville State College) Medgar Evers College men’s basketball forced 29 Mustang turnovers and had four net double digits as they handed Morrisville State College the 62-48 loss Friday night Nov. 20 in the first round of the SUNY Oswego Tip-Off Tournament in Oswego.

Morrisville State shot just 33 percent from the floor in the opening half and threw the ball away 18 times as Medgar Evers went into the halftime break with a seven point lead over the Mustangs.

In the second, Morrisville State pulled to within three before the Cougars went on an 8-0 over a two minute span to increase the lead to 11 and didn’t look back as they collected the 62-48 victory.

Bryan Eddy (Brooklyn, NY) led Morrisville State with 14 points on the night, adding six rebounds and three assists to his tallies. Kyle Gordon (Riverhead, NY) added nine points, three assists and six boards, while teammate Hodges Sneed (Syracuse, NY) added six points, grabbed six boards and blocked two shots.

Kallie Sharp and Ronald Holloway each netted 13 for the Cougars while Jarrel Deare added 12 and Jovan Deare contributed a double-double performance with 12 points and 11 boards.

Morrisville State (0-2) returned to the floor yesterday at 2 p.m. in the consolation round of the tournament and will face the loser of the Oswego/New Jersey City University match-up.
