The Morrisville State cross country teams placed third and ninth overall Oct. 31 in the 2009 North Eastern Athletic Conference cross country championships, hosted by SUNY Institute of Technology.
For the women’s team, Morrisville’s Stephanie Page (Nunda, NY) finished 10th out of 66 runners with a time of 23:33, an average mile pace of 7:35. Soon after, junior Regina Laws (Uniondale, NY) followed in 17th with a finishing time of 24:28. Kelcie Degenfelder (Collins, NY) came in with a time of 24:41 with Elizabeth Peck (Antwerp, NY) nearly ten seconds later and freshman Brittany Ellis (Camillus, NY) with a finishing time of 28:39.
The women’s team placed third overall, with runners Page qualifying for second-team all conference with Laws and Degenfelder in third-team all conference.
For the men’s team, Peyton Williams (Bronx, NY) finished in 33:57, with a speedy mile pace of 6:50, followed closely by Carl Tausend (Cato, NY) who finished in 35:05. Adam Hauck (Vernon Center, NY) finished soon after with a time of 40:06 as well as Curtis Roberson (Brooklyn, NY) (40:36) and Edgar Linian (Brooklyn, NY) (45:54).
