The League of Women Voters of the Greater Oneida Area will sponsor two Candidates Nights for positions in the City of Oneida in October.
The first will be on Wednesday, October 14th at 7:00PM at the Kallet Civic Center on Main Street in Oneida. Candidates for Madison County Board of Supervisors will make statements about why they are interested in being re-elected to their positions. Then the two mayoral candidates, Leo Matzke and Peter Hedglon, have been invited to speak on the topic, “If elected (or re-elected) what do I hope to accomplish as the mayor of the City of Oneida?”
Written questions from the audience will be taken. A new voting machine also will be available for the public to view at this event.
The second forum will take place the next evening, Thursday, October 15th at 7:00PM at the Kallet Civic Center. Candidates for Madison County Sheriff and County Clerk will speak. Candidates running for positions on the Oneida City Common Council will speak on the topic, “If elected (or re-elected) what do you hope to accomplish as a member of the Common Council?”
Written questions will be accepted from the audience.
