Primaries Tuesday! thumbnail

By Martha E. Conway

Tuesday, Sept. 15, is Primary Election Day across Madison County, and nine offices in four towns are up for grabs. Republican, Conservative and Independence Party voters can go to the polls in Georgetown, Lebanon, Lenox and Lincoln to cast their ballots for the candidate(s) they want to see take those lines for the General Election in November.

Georgetown

Supervisor Russell Hammond is stepping down from the position this year with the end of his term. David Coye of Route 26 and Malcolm Sergent of Lebanon Road are vying for the Republican Party line in the race for that seat.

Highway Superintendent Leon Worlock is challenged by Thomas Campbell of Route 26 for the GOP line, and on the Independence Party Line, Campbell is facing off with Duane Newton to appear on the November ballot for that party.

Lebanon

In Lebanon, Republican incumbents Lois Hartshorn and Steven Wilcox are defending their seats against Letta Palmer of Lebanon Road.

Highway Superintendent Alex Hodge and challenger Sheldon Palmer of Lebanon Road face-off for the GOP line Tuesday, as well.

Highway Superintendent Salvador “Tony” Cesario faces the competition of newcomer Douglas Simmons of Oneida Valley Road for the support of the GOP.

Edward Cerasia of Delano Avenue rounds out a three-way Republican primary for Lenox Town Council with incumbents John Hadyk and Anthony Palamara.

Lincoln

In Lincoln, Highway Superintendent Anthony Domenicone is being challenged by newcomer Erik Rundberg of Timmerman Road for the Republican line for that office.
