To the Editor:
I am, as I did four years ago, writing a letter of unwavering support for the reelection of Mr. Kenneth Kunkel for the position of Madison County Clerk.
I had the distinct privilege of working with Ken at both the town government and the county government for over 10 years. Ken’s first assignment with Madison County was Deputy Madison County Clerk for motor vehicles. He held that office for over 10 years by utilizing his outstanding management and leadership skills. Ken elevated the motor vehicle department to one of the best in the state of New York.
The retirement of the previous Madison County Clerk was forthcoming and Ken was urged to run for present position four years ago and has continued to display the outstanding management and leadership that he had become known for as deputy county clerk for the motor vehicles.
Ken has shown that his passion for a strong customer service commitment has proven to be an enormous asset for the Madison County government as well as the thousands of customers his department services.
Through Ken’s leadership the county clerk department has received over $100,000 for grant projects.
Mr. Kunkel serves as a member of several state, county and local committees and associations.
As a previous 12-year member of the Madison County Board of Supervisors and the town supervisor of the town of DeRuyter, I strongly and unconditionally support the reelection of Mr. Kenneth Kunkel to the position of Madison County Clerk on Nov. 3, 2009.
Gordon A. Hull
DeRuyter, NY
