The Erieville area monthly luncheon at the EFD had as the guest speakers on Wednesday, October 21, John Taibe of Stockbridge and Jim Georges of Erieville.
As you may know, John is an avid railroaad enthusiast, having written a number of books on the subject. The latest book was written in collaboration with Jim and is titled, “ A Ride Through the Countryside on the Syracuse and Chenango Valley Railroad.”
This was the railroad that ran from Syracuse to Earlville and ceased operation in 1937. This talk was specific to the railroad as it ran through the town of Nelson.
Very interesting to learn about life in earlier times in the area where we live. The book is availailable at the Cazenovia library.
