Woodruffs discuss the realities and needs of nation’s injured heroes

Hamilton, N.Y. – The Colgate Bookstore will host an event with Bob and Lee Woodruff on Saturday, October 31 at 10 a.m. in the Class of 2003 Events Room (third floor).  The Woodruffs will discuss their family’s experiences with war-related traumatic brain injury, the Bob Woodruff Foundation, and the ReMIND movement.

A book-signing will follow.

The event is free, but space is limited, so advance sign-up is recommended at www.colgatebookstore.com/remind.

When ABC news reporter Bob Woodruff ‘83 was nearly killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Iraq, he and his family had an opportunity to get to know many of our nation’s injured heroes and their families. They realized their unique position to speak to civilian and military cultures, across political lines, and throughout the nation, calling for tangible support to assist injured service members and their families.

The Bob Woodruff Foundation provides resources and support to service members, veterans, and their families to successfully reintegrate into their communities so they may thrive physically, psychologically, socially and economically.

ReMIND.org is a movement of the Bob Woodruff Foundation that educates the public about the needs of injured service members, veterans, and their families, and empowers people everywhere to take action.

The Woodruffs are the authors of the #1 New York Times bestseller In an Instant: A Family’s Journey of Love and Healing about the attack in Iraq that left Bob seriously injured, and his road to recovery.

Lee Woodruff is the author of the new memoir Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress.
