Alliance Bank Children’s Series Kicks Off at Hamilton Theater

(Hamilton, NY) The 2009-10 Alliance Bank Children’s Matinee Series kicks off at Hamilton Theater on Saturday, October 3 at 12:30pm with the animated family favorite Over the Hedge, sponsored in partnership with the Colgate Inn. The Utica Zoomobile will visit with live animals before the movie.

Thanks to Alliance Bank, in partnership with individual film sponsors and campus partners, admission to all films in the series is free for children and adults. This marks the seventh year that Alliance Bank is sponsoring the children’s series.

“We are extremely grateful to Alliance Bank, and to our individual film sponsors, for making this series available to the community,” said Hamilton Theater’s Chuck Fox. He noted that more than 2,000 children and family members from Norwich to Brookfield to Cazenovia to Oneida and all communities in between enjoyed the series last year.

Saturday children’s films feature a special highlight before each film to complement the movie. Greet ponies from Young Riders 4-H before Black Beauty on October 10. Thrill to live hawks, owls and crows with Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience prior to An American Tail on October 24. Come early and meet Rudolph’s live reindeer friends before the Holiday Classics Double Feature on December 5.

The full fall schedule is as follows:

October 3- Over the Hedge, sponsored by the Colgate Inn, with a special visit by the Utica Zoomobile.

October 10- Black Beauty., sponsored by Catania Chiropractic and Campus Partner Theta Chi.. Greet ponies from Young Riders 4-H.

October 17- Spy Kids, sponsored by Rend-Cach Farms (Drink Milk!). Meet McGruff the Crime Dog.

October 24- An American Tail, sponsored by Evergreen Gallery. Thrill to live hawks and owls with Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience.

October 31- Monsters vs. Aliens, sponsored by Miles B. Marshall Insurance. Take home Monsters vs. Aliens treats!

November 7- Space Chimps, sponsored by Bikowsky Heating and Plumbing. Meet a real (space) chimp!

November 14- Igor, sponsored by Crowe’s Drug Store. Be ready for a special surprise!

November 21- Alvin and the Chipmunks ,sponsored by M&M Press. Meet the Chipmunks’ furry friends!

December 5- A Holiday Classics Double Feature with Rudolph and Frosty, sponsored by Leigh Baldwin & Co. Meet Rudolph’s live reindeer friends.

December 12- A Muppet Christmas Carol, sponsored by Dunn, Bruno and St. Leger, featuring a performance by the HCS instrumental groups.
