(Morrisville, NY) A special meeting of the local Association of Town Clerks was held on Friday, October 23 at the Town Office Building in Morrisville. The reason for the gathering was that the two district directors, liaisons for the regional clerks to the State of NY, wanted an opportunity to meet with the various clerks and become familiar with the territory that they, as directors, cover.
Deb Clark, Town Clerk of Eaton provided lunch with some dishes provided by the other clerks. A very pleasant and instructive event.
They found that they shared many common concerns. For example, there is a glitch in the machine or program that controls the printing of DEC licenses that at times causes the machine to print out a particular series of hunting/fishing licenses nonstop. All of the clerks present were surprised when this happened in their own offices.
