(Hamilton, NY – May 2012) The 2012 edition of Hamilton’s Cruisin’ will begin Tuesday, May 22, and continue each Tuesday evening through Sept. 4. With the permission and continuing support of the mayor’s office and the board of trustees of the village of Hamilton, this year’s event will again be held on East Broad Street, between Payne and John streets.

East Broad Street will be closed to through traffic and public parking beginning at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoons. Those seeking public parking in this block of East Broad Street during these events will be directed to the village municipal parking lot at the rear of the Hamilton Village Office building. Participating cruise vehicles may begin parking along East Broad Street at 5 p.m.

In past years, we have had a varied display of antiques, classics, hot rods, street rods, rat rods, trucks, motorcycles and even a few vintage race cars and farm tractors. This year, we are assured there will be more of the same. Village residents and spectators in general are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Local restaurants and food vendors will again tempt your taste buds with their offerings of food and beverages; so bring a lawn chair, and spend an enjoyable summers evening with the display of vehicles, the people, the food and the wonderful Hamilton Village Green.

For more information, call Ben Barrett at (315) 824-3074.

(Earlville, NY – May 2012) The Earlville Opera House presents three new exhibits by New York Artists. Lex Marat in the West Gallery will show Utica artist Hamid Irbouh’s large scroll paintings. Branded: A Collection from Canal Street in the East Gallery is Gilbertsville-born artist Kim Carr Valdez’s sculpture-jewelry collection composed from the debris off the sidewalks of Canal Street in New York’s Chinatown, where the counterfeit designer market thrives on bargain-seeking tourists.

In the Arts Café Gallery, Marcellus quilt-artist Nancy Bales’ exhibit The Great Outdoors captures the beauty of nature in landscapes of fabric that “look so real you can feel the sensations and smell the scents of the location.”

The three exhibits run from May 19 through June 30. Admission to the galleries is free.

Gallery Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, call (315) 691-3550 or visit earlvilleoperahouse.com. The Earlville Opera House is located at 18 East Main St., Earlville, at Route 12B.
