(Chittenango) John Button, Chittenango Republican Committee-endorsed candidate for re-election to the position of Chittenango Village Justice, has served in the position for 11-and-one-half years. In addition, he has served as Town of Sullivan Justice for 12 years, Town of Sullivan Councilman for 12 years, was appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals for Chittenango for 16 years.
Button holds a bachelor of science in industrial arts education from SUNY Oswego and a master of arts in instructional communication from Syracuse University.
His experience includes public school teacher, public school administrator for BOCES and acting as general manager for family-owned business Button Construction.
Button’s community involvement includes membership in the Chittenango Rotary Club, the First Presbyterian Church in Chittenango, and the Chittenango-area chapter of Dollars for Scholars.
Other community service includes work with Boy Scout Troop 11, achievement of the Eagle Scout award and serving on the Board of Directors for the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum.
