The Morrisville State College cross country teams participated in the 6th Annual Nevins Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 24, held at East Stroudsburg University.
The women’s team placed 11th overall with runners in the first 45 places out of 90 participants.
Regina Laws (Uniondale, NY) finished 41st for the Mustangs in 23:02. Trailing nearly 10 seconds, Stephanie Page (Nunda, NY) finished 45th, with Brittany Ellis (Camillus, NY) and Elizabeth Peck (Antwerp, NY) not far behind with times of 24:22 and 24:28. Nicole Williams (Brooklyn, NY) finished in 32:59 for the Mustangs.
For the men’s team, Peyton Williams (Bronx, NY) was the first to cross the finish line for Morrisville State, coming in at 19:50. Next in line to finish was Morrisville’s Carl Tausend (Cato, NY) with a 20:17 finishing time.
Matt Benjamin (Chittenango, NY) ran in eight seconds later along with Adam Houck (Vernon Center, NY) in 22:38, Justin Kondrat (Middlegrove, NY) in 24:16, and Edgar Linian (Brooklyn, NY with a time of 24:26. The men’s team placed 14th overall.
The next meet for both the men and women is at the Bard College Invitational.
