Owens for 23rd Congressional District

To the Editor:

The opposition claims that it has a candidate chosen by the “people.”

That statement is “in their dreams!” Doug Hoffman is the choice of extreme Washington lobbyists. He was a distant third until former Republican Congressman Dick Armey, Sarah Palin and their friends swooped in and brought him up. He is not a resident of the 23rd Congressional District of New York; he lives in Lake Placid, in the 20th District. He is a very wealthy man who lives on a private island and has demonstrated total and complete ignorance of local issues.

For nearly twenty years, the 23rd District has been represented by a distant and unresponsive individual. We have the opportunity to change that, by electing Bill Owens to Congress.
