CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – Back in September, the Cazenovia College volleyball team set out to raise $1,225 by October 17 for breast cancer awareness and research. The Wildcats efforts were successful and the team has exceeded their goal by raising over $1,700 through their “Dig Pink” initiative.

The Wildcats fundraising effort culminated with their “Dig Pink” event on Saturday, October 17 during a home tri-match with Morrisville State College and The College of St. Elizabeth. Along with pulling in $1,230 through online donations over the past few weeks, the team raised an additional $500 on Saturday with donations, sales and raffles.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our team, really,” said Head coach Bryan Bobo. “They took this event very seriously and had a lot of fun with it. We’re glad that we were able to contribute to the ongoing fight against a disease that’s affected so many lives.”

All of the funds raised during the campaign benefit The Side-Out Foundation, a Washington DC-based group formed to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer through volleyball activities. “Dig Pink” is an extension of the Side-Out Foundation.
