The Cazenovia College men’s soccer team had only one shot on goal Saturday afternoon Oct. 17 against Clarkson University, but that was all that was needed to hand the Golden Knights a 1-0 loss.
The Wildcats improved to 6-6-1 overall with the win, while Clarkson dropped to 5-7-1, losing their fifth straight in the process.
Clarkson outshot the Wildcats 16-3 and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks for the contest, but let Cazenovia freshman Tim Hartill’s (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown) shot in the 22nd minute slip past goalie Adam Lamoureux for the eventual game-winner.
Wildcats goalie Ryan Snyder (Dover Plains, NY/Dover Plains) played the entire 90 minutes in the net and recorded nine saves in the shutout victory.
Cazenovia will host Route 20 rival Morrisville State on Thursday Oct. 22 in an important matchup between North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) clubs.
