MORRISVILLE, N.Y.­ – Morrisville State College volleyball senior outside hitter, Amanda Britton (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 18, 2009. This is the second time this season Britton has earned this honor.

Britton led Morrisville State to a 3-0 week, tallying 42 kills, 63 defensive digs, two service aces, and three blocks, averaging 3.92 points per game in wins over Hartwick College, Cazenovia College and The College of St. Elizabeth.

Against Hartwick on Friday Oct. 16 she tallied 13 kills and 25 defensive digs as Morrisville took the contest 3-2. On Saturday, Britton posted a season high 19 kills (hitting .412), three solo blocks and 25 defensive digs in the 3-1 win over Cazenovia and followed with 10 additional kills and 13 digs in the 3-0 victory over St. Elizabeth.

Britton, an early childhood education major at Morrisville State College, is a 2006 graduate of Cazenovia High School. She is the daughter of Janet and Richard Britton of Cazenovia, N.Y.

Morrisville State is 11-11 overall and remains undefeated in conference tri-match action and return to the court Saturday at SUNY IT for the final conference tri-match of the season. Match play begins at 9 a.m.
