Art Sale and Exhibit to Benefit Library

Art Sale and Exhibit to Benefit Library thumbnail

“It’s the event of the year,” says New Woodstock Free Library Director Norm Parry.

“Starting October 19, continuing through November 30, Central New Yorkers will have the opportunity to see and purchase artwork created by local luminaries and nationally recognized artists from the gallery at the library.  Proceeds of the sale will benefit the library,” Parry said.

“An ‘art fete,’ will be held Friday October 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the library, featuring the artists, a silent auction, and a gala ambiance – a party for artists and friends of the arts, where people can purchase art for their homes, offices, or as gifts.  Buyers can choose from a wide variety of styles and media,” Parry said.

“More than a hundred works by 20 artists will be available for purchase to benefit the library at the October 23 fete, and throughout October-November the run of the exhibit,” said exhibits co-chair Nancy Edwards.  “Many of the works are collector pieces that will increase in value over time.  The contributors to this exhibit and sale are well-known artists who want do something for the library, by offering their works to people who will appreciate them,” Edwards said.

“Everyone will find something that appeals to their taste,” Edwards added.

The exhibit and sale will be open during all regular library hours.  Inquiries may be made at 662-3134, or in person at the library, anytime during the exhibit that ends November 30 at 5 p.m.  The library is located at 2106 Main Street, Route 13, in the Hamlet of New Woodstock.

The library is open Monday through Friday 1 to 5 p.m., Monday and Wednesday evenings 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The library is also open whenever the library flags are displayed out front.

For more information about the exhibit and the other programs and events at the library call 662-3134 or visit the library’s web page at www.midyork.org/newwoodstock.

Thank you for including the two articles(MOM’s Donation and library benefit).

We appreciate your coverage of New Woodstock Free Library event notices and news.

We want people to know what’s available to them, and to encourage their participation. You’re doing that.

    Again, thank you.
