(Town of Lincoln, Oct. 15, 2009) Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies are continuing their investigation into a serious two vehicle crash that occurred at about 7:30 PM last evening on the Oxbow Road in the Town of Lincoln.

According to Madison County Undersheriff Doug Bailey, a Dodge Neon operated by Anthony V. Jayson, age 41, 202 Wilson Street, Canastota, New York was travelling in a southerly direction, uphill and rounding a curve on the Oxbow Road when he lost control of his car, crossed into the southbound lane and slid sideways into the path of a northbound mini-van.

The driver’s side of the Jayson vehicle was struck by the Miller van. Both vehicles were destroyed.

The mini-van was operated by Marianne Miller age 54, 216 North Court Street, Wampsville, New York. Jessica Miller, a sixteen year old daughter of Miller, was a front seat passenger. Both members of the Miller family received minor injuries but declined medical attention at the scene.

Anthony Jayson was administered CPR at the scene by members of the Greater Lenox Ambulance Service and Lincoln Fire Department. Jayson was transported to the SUNY Health science Center / Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse. Hospital staff this morning advised deputies that Jayson is listed in critical condition. Jayson sustained serious head, back and internal injuries.

According to uninvolved witnesses, the Jayson vehicle appeared to be travelling at a high rate of speed when his vehicle slid sideways into the opposite lane into the path of the mini-van.

Deputies were assisted at the scene and in the investigation by the New York State Police. Members of the Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction and Evidence Specialists are continuing their investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
