(Canastota, NY) The Swamp Snappers photography club will meet November 14 at 1pm at the Nature Center (8375 N. Main St., Canastota). The Snappers will be working on a calendar as to what they would enjoy learning and doing for the coming year.
In keeping with the season, the group will also be talking about the joys and challenges of winter photography—protecting your equipment, choosing subjects, camera settings. If you have a favorite winter shot, by all means bring it along. It doesn’t necessarily have to be yours (it could be a book or magazine photo that you really like). And if time permits, the Swamp Snappers will go outside to look at photo opportunities for this time of year. Everyone is welcome, especially beginners.
The purpose is to enjoy nature while learning about photography, to further the understanding of nature through photography, and to promote the ethical practice of nature photography. Activities: learning about photography through workshops, speakers, and experienced photographers, mentoring beginners, provide members the opportunity to share and critique their photographs, learning together through field work at the GSC and through field trips, sharing images with the community through exhibits at local libraries and at the GSC.
For more info please call the Great Swamp Conservancy at 697-2950.
