(Canastota – Nov. 28, 2009) There was a slight chill in the air but there was cocoa and cookies, music and a horse-drawn carriage ride to keep people occupied as they awaited the annual tree lighting ceremony and the arrival of Santa.

Mackenzi Stevens flipped the switch this year with a little help from her dad, Zack and Mayor Todd Rouse.

The Canastota Community Band played Christmas tunes as children waited in line to visit Santa. Pictured with Santa is 8-year-old Alyssa Schmidtka of Oneida.

The event is sponsored eachMackenzi Zack ToddBoy and tree
