(Bouckville,NY) The 12th Annual Milk Bottle Collector’s Picnic was held recently in Bouckville. Collectors from all over New York State gathered to share stories, rare finds and a delicious meal. The event is coordinated by Roger Thomas, NY State Regional Representative for the National Association of Milk Bottle Collectors. Mr. Thomas also serves as a Director on the NAMBC Board.
Madison County Dairy Princess, Arica Willson-Casarotti, and her dairy court started off the event by offering a nutritious milk toast. Arica noted that this is her 5th year serving milk punch at the picnic and she has a great start on her milk bottle collection.
Each year Mr. Thomas presents the members of the court with a milk bottle to further their own personal collection.
Arica and her court also shared the importance of getting three servings of milk, cheese and yogurt in your daily diet for a healthy lifestyle. For delicious dairy recipes please visit www.3aday.org.
The annual picnic is open to anyone who would like to learn more about milk bottles.
In addition to this event, Mr. Thomas coordinates displays at various milk bottle shows around the state and an exhibit at the NYS Farm Show during February in Syracuse.
“If anyone has any questions about milk bottles, wants to sell some milk bottles, or are looking for a particular milk bottle, they can contact me for more information” advises Roger Thomas. Mr. Thomas may be reached at nysmilks@aol.com or (607)753-8932.
