(Hamilton, NY – Feb. 2012) The Colgate Bookstore will host a Fantastic French children’s program Thursday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m. in the Class of 2003 Events Room at 3 Utica St. Children ages 5 through 9 are invited to learn a little French with a silly wolf who wants to change his color.
An interactive read-aloud will be followed by French learning games, a craft, take-home activities and a colorful snack. The program is free. Pre-registration (315-228-6944 or helia@colgate.edu) is encouraged but not required.
The featured story will be Le loup qui voulait changer de couleur/The Wolf Who Wanted to Change His Color. In this amusing picture book, ideal for beginning learners of French, Mr. Wolf is in a bad mood because he’s tired of always being the same shade of black. So he decides to try out some other colors, to see how it feels to be someone else.
At first it seems like a good idea, but the process quickly becomes more complicated. Will Mr. Wolf find a new hue that is just right, or will he learn to be happy just the way he is?
The program will be led by Kerry Linden, founder & instructor of Fantastic French enrichment classes. The learning will focus on French words for greetings, colors, numbers, animals and days of the week.
