(Brookfield – July 7, 2011) The 172nd Madison County Fair kicked off in Brookfield with a noon ribbon cutting at the main gate today. The first major act of the day was retired Madison County Sheriff’s Office Captain-turned-magician Matt Episcopo who entertained crowds with his illusions during several shows. Episcopo is pictured here with assistant A.J. Today’s shows were a doubly historic event for Episcopo. He said it was his first time performing in a public venue, usually performing at parties and events. In addition, it also was his first time performing in Madison County. (Martha E. Conway)
