Teddy Bear Parade Planned

Cazenovia Public Library news

(Cazenovia, NY – July 2, 2011) Amid all the July 4 festivities, there is a parade just for children and their teddy bears. The Cazenovia Public Library and Cazenovia Children’s House, Inc., will again sponsor the “Teddy Bear Parade” Saturday, July 2, at 10 a.m.

Children of all ages are invited to meet at Cannon Park with their favorite teddy bear and their parents, grandparents or baby-sitters. Singing with the bears will begin at Cannon Park at 10 a.m. with the march down the sidewalk of Albany Street to the Library beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Families are encouraged to decorate their wagons, strollers, tricycles and bears to add to the festivities. The parade concludes on the library lawn with more singing, activities and refreshments.

In case of rain, the festivities will be held in the Library Community Room.

Summer Schedule for Story Time Announced

Join the “Story Time in the Story Garden” summer fun at the Cazenovia Public Library at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Nursery rhymes bring joy to children of all ages and that’s what “Baby Story Time” with Betsy Kennedy is all about. Newborns to children 24 months old with their parents or caregivers are invited to continue meeting on Mondays and Tuesdays every week all summer.

Siblings are welcome.

Betsy Nash is calling all children ages 4 and 5 and their parents/caregivers to the Story Garden for “Preschool Story Time” Thursdays July 7 through Aug. 18. Children ages 2 and 3 and their parents or caregivers will enjoy “Toddler Story Time” Fridays July 8 through Aug. 19.

Come on in and enjoy the fun that prepares children for school, socially and academically, while giving parents the necessary background in child development that will help them guide their children toward becoming lifelong readers.
