(Chittenango, NY – June 2011) The Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum will host Canal Fest activities Sunday, June 19, from noon to 5 p.m. at their location at 7010 Lakeport Road in Chittenango.
This year’s theme is “Music, Mules and Mystery.”
Special events include a flag-raising ceremony at 12:15 p.m., a chicken barbecue from noon until gone, music by North Water from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Erie Canal Cloggers from 2 to 2:45 p.m., the Canastota Community Band from 2:30 to 4 p.m., a magic show at 3 p.m., furniture raffle drawing at 4 p.m. and Youth Group mystery play at 4:15 p.m.
All day events include blacksmithing and boat building demonstrations, wagon rides, inflatable climbing wall, kids’ games, Dear-E the Clown, scavenger hunt, alpacas and spinning demonstrations, door prizes, and all museum buildings open for viewing including the new exhibit on circus travel on the canal.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for members, and 12 and under are admitted free.
